To download the software and the iOS app, scroll down to below the manual.
To operate the VU-AMS Core you currently have two options:
- the iOS app for iPhone and iPad (recommended for quickly starting/stopping recordings, sending markers and viewing live data)
- The VU-DAMS beta application for Windows and Mac OSX (for viewing data, signal cleaning, scoring, and exporting features)
Download the VU-AMS iPhone/iPad app here by clicking the first link on the following page: https://vu-ams.nl/AppStore.html. Upon first installation of the app, you need to grant permissions since it did not come from the Apple app store. In your device, go to: Settings -> General ->VPN & Device Management ->Enterprise APP stichting VU-VUmc -> “Trust”
Download the latest beta version of the VU-DAMS software for VU-AMS Core here for Windows or macOS
For using VU-DAMS to connect to a VU-DAMS Core device via Bluetooth Matlab runtime version 2023b is required. This is a very big download (4GB+) so we recommend using the iOS/MacOS app for Bluetooth connectivity.
If the Windows version of VU-DAMS beta does not start or ceases working:
- Your virus scanner may detect a false positive for the programme and quarantine the executable. Check if you have new alerts from your Windows defender/virus scanner related to “PUA:Win32/Puwaders”. Click on the notification and “allow”. Then reinstall the VU-DAMS beta software
If the macOS version of VU-DAMS does not start you may try these steps:
If VU-DAMS does not start on MacOS, first try to start it on command line:
– open the Terminal.app
– go to your Applications directory by typing: cd /Applications
– run: open VU-DAMS.app
If this resolves your problem, unfortunately you will have to keep starting it like this for now. We are working on a fix for the double click start.
Otherwise the most like cause is the Java installer has not set the required environment variable JAVA_HOME.
To fix this:
First get the required value to put into this variable:
– open the Terminal.app
– run: /usr/libexec/java_home
– copy the output (eg. /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk-21.jdk/Contents/Home)
– open the settings file ~/.zshrc in a text editor; for example: nano .zshrc
– add the following to the bottom of the file: export JAVA_HOME=”<the path you just copied>”
– restart the Terminal and try to start VU-DAMS again
When first installing the VU-DAMS beta for VU-DAMS Core, you will also need to install the Java 21 SDK: go to the official java site and switch to the MacOS or Windows tab. If you have a pre 2021 Mac, download the x64 DMG installer, for a newer Mac pick the ARM64 DMG installer, for Windows pick the x64 installer. After installing Java 21 you should be able to start VU-DAMS.
